March Garden Club Meeting at Mullet Creek,
536 Philippe Parkway
Wednesday, March 17, 2021

We had 24 Garden Club members at Mullet Creek for the planting and beautification event!

Becky DeCroteau searches for thirsty plants!

There was a short meeting to start, and everyone got an assignment. Masks required, Social distancing in effect.

We tackled a make-over of our garden square area and planting three other beds. Some prep work was already started.

Some painted rocks for plant ID, some pulled weeds, others planted.

When we finished/or at 11:30 we took a break for our Publix catered lunch supplied by the City. During lunch we had our business meeting including election of officers. (The current board has volunteered to stay on for another term).

At first I thought it was a flock of Ibis!

Meanwhile out at Folly Farm Preserve…. (photos from our February meeting, etc)

We met in the barn and had a special guest! George Weiss, the man who donated the land for the Preserve!

Carol Zieres created a beautiful piece of art depicting the Preserve at Christmas time and presented the original to Mr. Weiss.

He spoke about the origin of the park and how much he appreciated all the effort expended by the garden club to beautify the gardens.
