Our award winning Folly Farm Gardens just got bigger!
The Safety Harbor Garden Club Folly Farmers recently added a new garden at Folly.
It is called the Rainbow Garden.
Over 160 native plants were installed amongst the 23 Rainbow Eucalyptus trees previously planted by the city.

Here's your chance to get in on the Folly magic and stake your claim to a piece of the action. Set your own hours, be your own boss and experience the magic of Folly!
See any Folly Farmer for more gardening details.

March was a BUSY month!

Cardboard Campout

What's a cardboard campout got to do with gardening you ask?  We needed the cardboard, silly!

One of the gardening techniques we use at Folly is using cardboard as a weed barrier.

Similar to the black weed cloth you see used in landscape installations only the cardboard breaks down after the weeds are eliminated leaving only soil.

So, the morning after the campout, our intrepid campers recycled their shelters into weed barrier for our new Rainbow Garden!

Kiss the Ground
Movie showing

One of our city partners, Recreation Superintendent Shannon Schafer, was able to arrange a Films at Folly presentation of the widely acclaimed documentary "Kiss the Ground".

We made it a movie night with a BYOB dinner and snacks supplied by Harbor Dish.

Thank you, also, to Donna Mack and staff for setting us up!

Butterfly Gardening 101 class

The SHGC partnered with our City Master Naturalist Autumn Reich to offer an introductory class on butterfly garden tips.

It was a little wet out but that didn't stop this dedicated group of gardeners.

Look for more classes to be offered and posted in the Safety Harbor REAL magazine and on our Facebook page and website.
